Wonderland
Rot,
Rioting across the cracked cobblestone.
Lingering on the remnants of that dreary real estate.
It was alone, searching for whatever happiness was left behind.
Remember the Fireball?
Is it still even there?
The crumbling archway ached to clash with the floor,
longing to block the last leeway the park could give.
Decay seemingly swept the land clean.
There!
Where?
The rides were gone by now,
Just more rubble against-
Look!
A ring of flame far flung from the park’s entrance,
Its creases shimmering despite the dense darkness.
But how?
Come on!
Their they go again,
hair being humbled by the wind.
Was this our beginning, or the end?
For old time’s sake!
Run along now, it’s fine!
There was never a moment where I couldn't shine!
You never said that.
Longing was the last of these things.
Don’t linger, just run along with me!
Leave the shallowness of these thoughts behind!
A beauty robbed of excellence,
shaped to fit the mold set out for it.
Love what could linger!
I took you for a ride once wondrous,
left lingering as a memory of what remained.
Please!
A ride once shimmering and splendid,
was now just a torrent of flame.
